Making the Leap: Going from UX’er at a Big Tech to Launching a UX Agency. Your career does not always have to be a linear path.

Trinh Vo Yetzer is a Managing Partner at User Research International (URI), where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction, overseeing day-to-day operations, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. With over 25 years of experience in user experience (UX) research and product development, Trinh has been instrumental in driving the creation of intuitive, user-friendly, and innovative products that enhance customer experiences.

At User Research International, Trinh leads employee development, operational strategy, and business growth initiatives, ensuring that URI remains at the forefront of UX. Her leadership has contributed to the company’s reputation for delivering high-quality, data-driven insights that empower clients to make informed business decisions. Before joining URI, Trinh spent a distinguished career at Microsoft, where she established herself as a UX thought leader and key contributor to several high-profile products.

Beyond her role at URI, Trinh has been deeply committed to advancing disability inclusion in the workplace. For the past six years, she has served as a board member and President of Disability:IN Washington, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering an inclusive global economy where individuals with disabilities can fully and meaningfully participate. Through her leadership, Disability:IN Washington has expanded its impact, partnering with businesses to create more accessible and equitable employment opportunities.

 

The UX Speaker Series is hosted Thursdays in Winter Quarter by the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. Presentations are open to the public.
