By Kshitij Chhabra, HCDE Master's student
Thanks to generous support from the Human Centered Design and Engineering (HCDE) student travel assistance, this summer, I had the privilege of traveling to San Francisco in the Golden State of California to attend UXR Conf '24. Over 200 UXRs gathered in one room to share their experiences of working in different industries. There were keynotes from notable speakers such as Joris Drayer (Staff UX Researcher at Robinhood), Jennifer Siedjak (Director of UX Research at Tapestry), and Marie Sbrocca (UX Research Leader at Google Gemini).
On a personal level, this experience was particularly special as it marked my first time participating in a conference. I had the opportunity to connect with distinguished industry leaders and UXR professionals, gaining valuable insights into their work. These conversations provided me with a clear understanding of the key skills I can aim to master during my time at HCDE. Additionally, the timing of the conference coincided perfectly with San Francisco Design Week, offering me another opportunity to engage with the vibrant community of UX professionals.
