This year's CHI conference provided me with countless unforgettable experiences. Among them, the highlight was undoubtedly my first in-person paper presentation titled "IntroBot: Exploring the Use of Chatbot-assisted Familiarization in Online Collaborative Groups." Guided by my advisor (Gary), this project delved into the impact of a chatbot designed to facilitate familiarity among ad hoc teammates. The post-presentation discussion sparked a multitude of insightful questions that will undoubtedly enhance my future work.
In addition to the great experience of presenting my paper, I had the pleasure of interacting with researchers from various institutions. Engaging in conversations with experts in different subfields of HCI, including human-AI interaction, computer-mediated communication, and creativity support tools, provided me with valuable perspectives. I firmly believe such insights will greatly enrich my current and future research projects, and I am immensely thankful for the generous support of the HCDE travel grant that enabled me to have such great opportunities.
