Note Regarding Planned Course List Changes
The HCDE Department is planning to make changes that would impact our admission prerequisites and our mathematics and sciences course lists for students applying to the HCDE major in the future. Students who will be applying to begin the HCDE major in Autumn 2026 or later should anticipate that MATH 120, PHYS 114-116, and PSYCH 202 will no longer be accepted as HCDE admission prerequisites and these courses plus the PHYS 117-119 labs will no longer apply towards the course lists above for HCDE students admitted to the major for Autumn 2026 or later. Students applying to HCDE for Autumn 2025 may still use these courses to meet admission prerequisites; however, if they have not yet taken these courses, we would encourage them to select other courses from the HCDE admission prerequisite list. Additional information can be found in the HCDE Undergraduate Curriculum Changes FAQs and the HCDE BS admission page.
