Designing for Mental Wellbeing
Join me for an exploration of designing for mental health, as we discuss challenges in fostering well-being and identity development in young minds. We'll look at a recent case study of a mental well-being application, break down the current mental health tech landscape and explore potential future trends in the field.
Sara Behbakht (HCDE BS ’21) is a human-centered designer and creative technologist who finds purpose in creating meaningful experiences at the intersection of education and healthcare. As an Interaction Designer at IDEO, she is dedicated to crafting digital solutions that prioritize well-being, elevate human connections, and inspire joyful interactions in the health, learning, and nonprofit sectors. In her previous roles, she has explored artistic expression in virtual reality, imagined the future of long-haul trucking, and crafted digital platforms for social-emotional learning in kindergarten classrooms.
The UX Speaker Series is hosted Thursdays in Winter Quarter by the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. Presentations are open to the public.
Depending on the speaker's preference, a recording will be posted to this webpage after the event. View the full schedule at hcde.uw.edu/ux.
