Tuition deadlines
Tuition is due by the third Friday of each academic quarter.
Students in this fee-based certificate program are responsible for managing two financial accounts through the MyUW portal:
- Student fees are paid to UW Student Fiscal Services
- Tuition payments are made to UW Continuum College (PCE)

Tuition exemption unavailable
The Graduate Certificate in User Centered Design is a self-sustaining program and is not supported by state funding. As such, it does not participate in the University of Washington’s Tuition Exemption program for state employees.
Financial aid
The UCD program does not offer scholarships or direct tuition support. However, some students may qualify for federal student loans if they file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Apply credits toward a HCDE Master's degree
Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in User Centered Design may apply the program’s 15 graduate-level credits toward degree requirements if later admitted to the Master of Science in Human Centered Design & Engineering.
