Graduate Certificate in User Centered Design


The graduate certificate in User Centered Design (UCD) is an in-person, evening, graduate-level program in the department of Human Centered Design & Engineering for students who want to enhance their skills in user experience (UX) research and design.

In this five-course, 15 credit graduate certificate program, students explore how usability studies and interaction design can influence web design and product development, and look at the latest innovations in the field. UCD Certificate students study the latest theories and practices to keep user needs at the forefront of each stage of the design process.

Admissions

A bachelor's degree from a four-year, accredited institution, combined with a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a related field is required for admission. Review application materials and submission instructions here »

Curriculum

This five-course certificate includes required coursework in usability studies and user-centered design theories, and includes elective coursework in either visual communication, information visualization, accessibility and inclusive design, interaction design and prototyping, or user-centered web design.
