Josh LaMar graduated with his Master's in Human Centered Design & Engineering in 2006.
Since then, he has gone on to become the Principal Design Research Manager at Microsoft, responsible for the user experience behind the Outlook platform.
LaMar leads a team of researchers who work across design and engineering teams at all stages of the software development lifecycle. He credits his degree in HCDE for helping him learn how to design products by tailoring solutions to the unique needs of the people who will encounter his products.
"I think I learned the concepts and ideas that I learned in grad school almost on a daily basis," said LaMar. "The program really does a good job at giving any of the students a solid foundation with which to move forward in their UX careers, and that could go in so many different directions."
